1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy and Terms of Use explain how MakeMyDay (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and protects personal data, and the conditions under which you may use our mobile or web application. We process personal data in accordance with GDPR, ePrivacy Directive, and local data protection laws. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our privacy practices.
2. Data We Collect
a) Information You Provide

- Notes you write, including the text, the category and colour you choose, and whether the note is shared to the community feed or kept private
- Your interactions with other people's notes: likes, saves, and reports you submit
- Your referral code, and the code of the person who referred you, if any
b) Automatically Collected Data
- Device type and platform (iOS / Android)
- Browser information (website only)
- App usage data
- Notification token (for push messages), together with the date the device was last seen
- Your local time-zone, used to send notifications at your chosen local hour
- Daily activity used to calculate your streak, and the number of bonus posts granted to you
- Advertising identifiers and related data, where you have consented — see section 3
c) Safety and Moderation Data
When a note is submitted to the community feed we store the result of our automated content checks alongside it, and a count of how many people have reported it. Where our rules are broken we also record enforcement state on the account: a strike count, and if applicable a period during which posting is suspended. This data exists to keep the community usable and to apply our rules consistently.
d) Wallet Data
Each account is issued a blockchain wallet address and key at registration, retained for a planned feature that is currently disabled. No transactions are made, no funds are held, and this data is not used for any other purpose.
e) Cookies & Tracking (website)

- Analytics — we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how our website, blog, and documentation are used, so we can improve them. Microsoft Clarity is provided by Microsoft and may capture aggregated usage and interaction data (such as clicks, scrolls, and page navigation). On our blog and documentation, Microsoft Clarity loads only after you accept cookies via our consent banner, and you can decline at any time.

You may also disable cookies in your browser settings. These analytics tools run on our website only; they are not part of the mobile app.
3. Advertising
a) Mobile App
The free tier of the mobile app is supported by advertising, provided by Google AdMob. Two formats appear: an occasional sponsored card within a feed, and an optional rewarded video you may choose to watch in exchange for an additional daily post. You are never required to watch an advertisement to use the app.
Where the law requires it — including in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — we ask for your consent before any advertisement is requested, using Google's User Messaging Platform. If you decline, or if consent cannot be established, no advertisement is requested at all. You can change your choice at any time from the “Privacy choices” option in the app's profile screen, which appears wherever your region provides this right.
On iOS, the system will additionally ask whether you allow tracking across apps and websites. Declining is fully supported: advertisements still appear, but are not personalised.
Advertising is served by Google, which may process advertising identifiers and related device data under its own privacy policy (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites). We do not share the content of your notes with advertisers, and your notes are never used to target advertising.
b) Web App
The free tier of the MakeMyDay web app (app.makemyday.tips) shows the same two formats: an occasional sponsored post within a feed, served by Google AdSense, and an optional rewarded video, served by Google Ad Manager, that you may choose to watch in exchange for an additional daily post. You are never required to watch an advertisement to use the web app.
Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Google may also use cookies and similar technologies to measure ad performance and to prevent fraud.
Where the law requires it — including in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland — we ask for your consent through a consent message before cookies are used for advertising. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised or limited advertisements that do not rely on your consent. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy settings link on the web app.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's My Ad Center (myadcenter.google.com), and you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices or, in the EEA and the UK, at www.youronlinechoices.eu. How Google uses information from sites that use its services is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
MakeMyDay Plus members see no advertisements in the mobile app or the web app (see section 21).

Processing is based on your consent (notifications, analytics, cookies, advertising), legitimate interest (improving the service, keeping the community safe), and contractual necessity (providing app functionality).

6. Data Storage & Retention
We store data only as long as needed to provide the Service or comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion at any time, from within the app or at makemyday.tips.
Deletion is not immediate, by design. When you ask us to delete your account we mark it for deletion and it becomes inaccessible straight away: you are signed out on every device, and your shared notes stop appearing in the community feed. Your data is then permanently erased after a grace period of 30 days. Signing back in during that period restores the account — this exists so that an accidental or impulsive deletion is recoverable. After the 30 days the account and its data are removed permanently and cannot be recovered. Your username remains reserved to you throughout the grace period.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data.
We may share data with:
- Cloud hosting providers
- Notification services (Firebase, Apple Push Notification Service)
- Advertising services (Google AdMob, Google AdSense and Google Ad Manager) — see section 3
- Content moderation services (OpenAI), which process the text of a note at the moment it is submitted in order to detect content that breaks our rules
- Analytics services (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) — website only
- Payment providers (for premium services)
All partners comply with GDPR through Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).

9. Your GDPR Rights

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including: encryption, access controls, secure storage, and regular audits. No method is 100% secure, but we strive to meet industry standards.
11. Children’s Privacy
Users under 16 require parental consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children without such consent.

TERMS OF USE
14. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the MakeMyDay mobile or web application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
15. Use of the Service
You agree to use the Service only for personal, non-commercial purposes, provide accurate registration information, not misuse or attempt to harm the platform, and respect intellectual property and copyrights. You also agree not to reverse-engineer the app, attempt unauthorized access, distribute harmful software, or send spam or harmful content.
16. Community Content
MakeMyDay lets you share notes publicly with other users. You keep ownership of what you write. By sharing a note to the community feed you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display and distribute that note within the Service, for as long as you choose to keep it there. Deleting a note, or deleting your account, ends that licence.
You are responsible for what you post, and you confirm that you have the right to post it.
17. Community Rules — Zero Tolerance for Objectionable Content
The community feed exists to be a kind place. We have no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. You must not post content that:
- harasses, bullies, threatens, or targets any person
- is hateful, or attacks or demeans people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity, or sexual orientation
- is sexually explicit, or sexualises minors in any way
- depicts, encourages or glorifies violence, self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders
- promotes illegal activity, or the sale of drugs, weapons, or regulated goods
- is spam, advertising, a scam, or an attempt to drive traffic elsewhere
- contains another person's private information
- infringes anyone's copyright or other rights
- impersonates another person or organisation
MakeMyDay is not a crisis service. If you or someone else is in danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis helpline.
18. Moderation, Reporting and Enforcement
Notes shared to the community are checked automatically before they are published, and content that clearly breaks the rules in section 17 is refused at the point of posting. Automated checks are not perfect, so every note also carries a report option.
If you see something that breaks these rules, report it from the note's menu. Reports are reviewed and acted on, and a note that attracts multiple reports is hidden from the feed pending that review. We act on reports of objectionable content within 24 hours, by removing the content, by removing the person who posted it, or both.
Where an account breaks these rules we may remove the content, record a strike against the account, suspend its ability to post for a period, or terminate it. Repeated or severe breaches lead to permanent removal. You may edit or delete your own notes at any time.
19. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for keeping your account secure, choosing strong passwords, ensuring device and network security, and any activity occurring under your account.
20. Notifications & Messages The Service provides motivational notifications based on your selected schedule. You may enable or disable notifications at any time. Notification delivery may depend on device settings, OS limitations, or third-party services.
21. Advertising and MakeMyDay Plus
The Service is free to use. The free tier is supported by advertising as described in section 3, and limits how many notes you may share to the community feed each day; watching an optional rewarded video grants one additional post for that day.
MakeMyDay Plus is an optional paid tier that removes advertising and the daily posting limit. It is not yet available for purchase. Before it is, these terms will be updated to explain how it is sold, priced and cancelled. Losing or cancelling Plus will never remove notes you have already written, and editing or deleting your own notes is never restricted by your tier.
We do not sell placement or reach in the community feed. Paying for Plus does not make your notes more visible to other people.
22. Intellectual Property
All content in the Service—including text, design, branding, motivational messages, and source code—is owned by MakeMyDay or licensed to us, except for the notes written by users, which are covered by section 16. Users may not copy, modify, or redistribute the content without permission.
23. Availability of Service
We strive to ensure availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify or suspend features at any time for maintenance or updates.
24. Limitation of Liability
MakeMyDay is not liable for device or network issues, loss of data beyond our control, damages resulting from misuse of the app, or temporary unavailability of services. The Service provides motivational content, not professional medical or psychological advice.
25. Termination and Account Deletion
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate the Terms. You may delete your account at any time from within the app, or from makemyday.tips without installing it, or by contacting support. Deletion follows the 30-day grace period described in section 6.
26. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the user's country of residence and applicable EU regulations.
